Town Rules Index
The following reminders are provided as a public service by WSCR and Scarlet County Coastal Broadcast Service.
These customs are not superstition. They are community safety practices.
General Scarlet County Etiquette
- Do not answer a knock at the back door after midnight.
- If the bay whistles, go inside.
- Never count the bells from Saint Mercy Church out loud.
- Do not photograph fog banks that appear to stand still.
- If your radio repeats your name, unplug it before responding.
Shoreline Etiquette
Residents near Redwater Bay and Mirewater are reminded not to engage with familiar voices heard from the waterline.
If a voice resembles a relative, neighbor, or child, leave the area calmly. Do not run unless instructed by an official broadcast.
Full Moon Advisory Customs
- Keep pets indoors after sunset.
- Do not leave meat scraps outside.
- Avoid wooded roads west of Hollow Hill.
- If headlights reveal more than two eyes, reverse slowly.
